Our position outlined above is aligned with Barrie House’s approach to addressing the challenge of sustainability. We operate our business and provide products that the world needs in a manner that balances economic growth, social development, and environmental protection so that the future is not compromised by actions taken today.
We will communicate our progress related to sustainability via social media and other channels to our customers and stakeholders. We will endeavor to advance our approach to sustainability through the expertise, and ingenuity of our people, now and into the future.
Supporting Coffee Research
Barrie House participates in World Coffee Research’s Checkoff Program as a way to invest “pennies per pound” to ensure the future of coffee. As part of the program, Barrie House pays a premium for coffee we purchase which goes directly to World Coffee Research to support agricultural research and development. Research is an essential basis for improving the“goodness” of coffee: how good it tastes, how good it is for the planet, and how good it is for people who grow it. Barrie House is happy and proud to be supporting the future of coffee.
Equity, diversity & inclusion
We embrace diversity at every level in our organization from our Board of Directors, our Leadership Team, our management teams, and our employees. We are also partnered with Equal Origins to drive awareness and change for gender inequities in the coffee industry.

Our ReVcup® Single serve capsule
Our patented, award-winning, RevCup® single serve Keurig compatible* capsules make it possible to recycle in 3 easy steps.
Let the capsule cool before handling.
Peel off the aluminum lid – which is tabbed for easy disassembly.
Discard filter and compost or discard grounds. Recycle aluminum lid and plastic capsule wherever these recyclables are accepted.
Our coffee is also preserved with a natural nitrogen flush system to ensure freshness in every cup.
Our Aluminum espresso capsule
An aluminum capsule is the best way to seal in aroma and flavor. It perfectly protects our coffee from light, moisture, and oxygen, ensuring that the taste and aroma remain sealed in until you brew the capsule.
Aluminum capsules also offer superior functionality, they do not crack, melt, or become deformed, which can occur with plastic capsules. Our capsules fit all Nespresso® Original Line machines, which were specially designed to take aluminum capsules.
Aluminum is fully recyclable, which is great when it comes to the environment. It can be recycled over and over, without losing its material properties.
* Not compostable and/or recyclable in all communities.
